A Methodology for Evaluating the Progression of Damage in a Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer Laminate Subjected to Vertical Weight Drop Impacts

This study describes a methodology that allows evaluating the behavior of glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) laminate impacted by vertical weight drop, analyzing damage occurred inside. The purpose designers was, means characterization tests curing processes, evaluation cohesion particular laminate, application drops and with use readings an accelerometer in single direction, know trend how intralaminar breaks matrix interlaminar between layers occur. It is proposed to establish before times, for after observations penetrating fluorescent inks. researchers response loads imposed on applied structure. For tests, prepreg material cured outside autoclave oven was used qualitative quantification observing sections tested infiltrated ink exposed ultraviolet light.
